Our Family Server Running FreeBSD
Last update: 16.01.2012
This is a small mail-, file-, print-, web- and proxyserver running for my family and me. Power consumption of the running system is ~45W.
No special system, but helps backing up data and accessing our important files from different locations.

The term server used here is in no way related to high-reliability, high-performance or high-cost hardware!
History
Upgrade Notes
- After some thoughts on upgrading (see 1 and 2 ) my old hardware, this system went online on 2008-06-21.
- The complete data and operating system was copied over from a 160GB disk to the new 500GB disk with tar while booted into a FreeBSD 7 Live CD.
- Moved /var and /usr to separate partitions.
- After some struggle with /boot/loader and the changed partitioning scheme the system booted up and started to serve.
